Minimalistic Coastal Outdoor Area

This is an iconic property located on Marine Parade in Mount Maunganui, with a massive Pohutukawa hanging over the section. One of the most important elements to consider was the harsh coastal environment that  the plants would be living in.

The client had built a new home on the back of the section and retained the original bach on the front. To connect these two properties with the beach we designed a garden that replicated the coastal environment, including using sand dune plants along the side of the driveway right up to the new house.

Throughout the garden we mass planted with a variety of colourful grasses, which created a continuous view through to the beach and within the property. This project cumulated in constructing a large deck connecting the new house to the old cottage to provide connections within the property.

This project showcases our skill at creating a contemporary minimalistic garden area on a new property that reflects a beach style with ease of maintenance.
